Human Rights for All People

People don’t often stop and think about human rights. It is one of those things people take for granted and don’t pay much attention to since they have never encountered an issue with their human rights being violated. However, not everybody is that lucky ad there are people who suffer from these kinds of violations but unfortunately have no options of fighting against it. There are many reasons for that.

One of the groups in society who see the most issues with their human rights not being taken into account is migrants. They settle in a different country than they were born in for safety or economic reasons but often lack the necessary resources.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin know this first hand because their Human Rights Organisation the Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin Frontera Fund works with other organizations to help migrant groups when their human rights are abused.

Both of them are journalists, so they can reach different contingent of people since they run an online magazine. Their own story put quite a few things into perspective since before it all started, they did not have such an understanding about how many groups suffer because they need a little bit of help.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin were kidnapped because of the information they possessed, and even though this event was traumatic enough, afterward they were arrested by the local authority for questioning. Both gentlemen were sure the arrest was unlawful, so they were not going to sit with their arms folded. They sued the county and won. Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin walked away with a settlement money of 3.75 million dollars awarded to them by the Court ruling the arrest unlawful.

It prompted both journalists to do something useful with the settlement money. They didn’t want to stand by while other people were getting involved. They wanted to help the group they encounter in their neighborhood – migrants. They know that many people lack the knowledge of English as well as money and other resources to fight their employees if they don’t guarantee them their human rights.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin Frontera Fund works with supporting other Human Rights organizations to make sure there are less and fewer people whose human rights are not guaranteed around the world.

They want to see a day when there are no such people left in the world, but they also know that the only way to ensure it is to get involved today. Both journalists believe in justice for all as well as rights for all no matter their race or social standing.

They want to help people be included into the society and be able to improve their life which was their intention when moving to a different country.

It is important to recognize the work of these organizations because many people work as volunteers to make life better for others without even blinking twice. It encourages other people to join this kind of work as well especially if they can see the difference it makes.
